Life can be overwhelming.

Whether it’s the daily grind, a crisis, or your coping strategies aren’t working, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by life at times and lose hope. You can feel alone when you are struggling. No matter the circumstances, you can find hope again for your journey.

Hi, I’m Tyler.

I believe you are worthy of being known and walked alongside as you look for hope again.

I am passionate about coming alongside people in their questions, struggles, and suffering. I desire to create a place where clients feel safe, heard, known, and helped.

I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who originally hails from the Midwest but has called Orlando home for 7 years.  I received my Master of Counseling degree at Reformed Theological Seminary. Prior to entering into the counseling profession, I served in a non-profit ministry role impacting individuals through mentorship and events.

In my free time, you can find me making up silly games with my kids, playing disc golf, enjoying a sitcom with my wife, obsessing over homemade pizza, and perfecting my dad jokes.

How I can help

Are you feeling stuck? Are you in a transition that feels overwhelming? Have you experienced a loss? Counseling can help you feel less burdened as you share about your struggles and discover how you can take steps toward change. I have a passion for helping people in their life transitions and challenges, particularly the challenges that teenagers, young adults, and those in ministry experience in their school, work, relationships, or spirituality.

As we journey together, through curiosity and compassion, we can discover the root of your challenges and begin to take steps towards change. My desire is to help you meet your goals and empower you to make the changes you desire in your life. I approach each client uniquely as each person is unique and has specific needs. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to help you reach your goals.

My areas of focus include:

  • Life Transitions and Adjustments

  • Grief and Loss

  • School and Career Challenges

  • Ministry Burnout

  • Spiritual Issues

FAQ

  • Counseling offers a place where you can be known, understand more clearly the challenges in your life, and begin to take steps of growth. Research shows the most important and impactful part of counseling is the relationship between the client and the counselor. In the context of this relationship, evidence based interventions can be utilized to help the client reach the goals they set for counseling.

  • It can be scary to share about your inner life with someone you do not know. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and able to share at your own pace. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation that can help you clarify if working with me is your best next step.

  • A standard counseling session is 45 minutes.

  • Each session is $120. If finances are an issue, I also offer a limited number of sliding scale clients (financial assistance application required).

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

  • At my East Orlando location, I can take Aetna, Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

For other providers, I can provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance to see if you qualify for any out-of-network benefits.

  • I can see clients located in Florida via telehealth or in person in East Orlando (near UCF) at Orlando Counseling Services and in Altamonte Springs (north of downtown Orlando) at Florida Counseling Foundation.
